Questions, answered.

The things independent yard owners ask us most. Still curious? Ask us directly.

Getting started

Do I need to be technical to use this?

No, and you get to choose who does the work. We can set the whole thing up for you — your fleet, your rates, your branding and your booking site — or you can do it yourself from the onboarding page, which walks you through it a step at a time. Either way your staff learn one screen, built to be picked up in an afternoon.

How long until I'm live?

Days, not months — and an afternoon if you are loading it yourself and your fleet is small. If we are doing the loading, most of the work is ours and you are reviewing and approving. On Pro and Fleet that hands-on setup is included; on Starter and Plus the onboarding page and its guides are how it gets done, and we still answer if you get stuck.

Can I move my existing data over?

Yes. Download our spreadsheet template, fill in your units, specs and rates, and the importer shows you every row it read before anything is written. Prefer to go unit by unit? The onboarding page does that too — pick the type, type the VIN, and the make, model and year fill themselves in. Nobody is re-typing an inventory by hand.

Using it day to day

What can I rent on it?

Anything. Trailers, tools, party and event gear, moving equipment — all in one system, each with its own specs and pricing. Most independent yards rent across categories, and this is built for exactly that.

Does it handle deposits and paperwork?

Yes. Security deposits are held, tracked and returned properly, and every rental produces a clear agreement with signatures and condition photos.

What about maintenance?

Service schedules, inspections and repair costs are tracked per unit. Anything off the road drops out of availability automatically, and anything due for work is flagged for you to schedule.

Does it tell me what the yard actually made?

Yes. Revenue is dated when you took the money, with deposits left out — a deposit is held, not earned. Expenses cover servicing and repairs plus anything you add by hand, filed under the expense lines of IRS Schedule C, so what you record is already sorted the way the form asks for it. On top of both, reports keep billed, collected and earned apart, show per-unit utilization for any period, and export to CSV.

Your customers & your site

Do my customers get their own booking site?

Yes. Every yard gets a branded site at yourname.ezrentalyard.com where customers browse your fleet and request dates 24/7. Requests arrive as quotes for you to confirm.

Will it help me get found on Google?

Your site is a real, public website on your own domain with your fleet and your rates on it, which is the part most independent yards are missing — an industry survey now puts the rental company's own website ahead of the phone as the way customers find them. What we do not do is run SEO for you: there is no keyword tool, no competitor tracking and no ranking dashboard in the product, and anyone selling you one inside rental software is selling you a checkbox.

Can I take card payments through it?

It is built, and it turns on for your yard once your Stripe account is connected and ours is verified — ask us where that stands for a yard starting this month and you will get a date rather than a maybe. Until then the software records what you took on your own terminal and every balance stays right. Here is what is waiting behind that switch. You connect your own Stripe account, so you are the merchant of record and payouts land in your bank. Card entry is Stripe's own form, so the number never touches our servers. The security deposit is a real authorization rather than a promise — after the return inspection you capture the damage and release the rest — and a refund goes back through the same ledger, capped at what the customer actually paid. You keep your own Stripe dashboard, and we take no percentage of your rentals. What you cannot do yet is take the money at the moment somebody books on your site; that booking arrives as a reservation and the card is taken when they collect.

Does it sync with QuickBooks?

No. Revenue and expenses are tracked and reported inside the software, and you can export to CSV. QuickBooks Online is on the list and we are not going to pretend otherwise on this page.

Do you text my customers?

No, on purpose. Every text needs documented consent and a STOP keyword, and TCPA damages run $500 to $1,500 per message. Instead your customer scans a code at the counter and signs on their own phone — no phone number, no carrier, no consent liability, and it works first time.

Can you handle delivery, or a second yard?

No. There is no dispatch board and no multi-location. If you drop trailers on job sites or run two yards, this is not built for that today.

Data, security & billing

Is my data private from other yards?

Completely. Every yard runs in its own isolated workspace — your customers, bookings and documents are only ever visible to you and your staff.

What happens if something breaks on your end?

Your yard is backed up every night, and the backups are proven rather than assumed — a full restore is rehearsed automatically every week, and it has to succeed. The service itself is checked every few minutes, and a failed check alerts us directly instead of waiting for you to notice. You can see the current state yourself any time on our status page.

How does pricing work?

Month-to-month, no setup fees, four plans by how many units you own. See the pricing page, or tell us about your yard and we'll give you a straight number.
